Epiphany
I heard her voice, and her voice set me free,
as if she broke down the barriers inside of me,
What a beauty it is to be loved and to be seen,
like a prophetic promise established with humanity,
a picturesque breath filled with dust and calamity.
Break my ribs to form a better part of me,
that bleeds and bends into a singular unity.
Our former sin is now a holy act,
and the sheepskins no longer cover our backs,
nor shames the conscience of all that we lack.
Let us love and number our days,
and let us not depart without change,
from Dust to Dust: you shall remain.
